Arriving by aeroplane in Venice is wonderful.
The views of the lagoon and the city from plane are unforgettable.
There are lots of options for transferring from Venice, Marco Polo airport to Lido.
By luxurious and very fast private water taxi (pre-booked) which will take you directly to the canal where the villa is located. You can book this service through the owner.
By the less expensive Alilaguna waterbus service (the yellow "vaporetto"). The landing stage for the Alilaguna waterbus is reached by airport shuttle bus (the bus stop is on the left as you leave the arrivals hall). The shuttle bus service is free.
By bus (or road taxi) from Venice, Marco Polo airport to "Piazzale Roma" square, which is situated on the Grand Canal to the west of the railway station. Piazzale Roma you can take a waterbus to the Lido.
From the Lido water bus station you can walk (approx. 7 minutes walk if you have a set of wheels for your luggage) or take a taxi (very short ride)
Arriving by train the water bus stop is just outside S. Lucia railway station. Water bus no.1 takes you on a ride through the Grand Canal (about 50 minutes) Water bus no. 51 is faster because it takes a more direct route to the Lido.
Arriving by car you take a ferryboat direct to the Lido, which leaves every 40 minutes from the Tronchetto area.
Once you have arrived at your apartment you will be met by the owner. It is important that you phone the owner from the airport to confirm that you have arrived or that you are delayed.
